| 31A horn is designed for WE594A driver so we can attach 594A driver directory. This short horn is designed very well so various drivers are used with attachment mechanism. I sometimes use this horn with WE594A or WE555 driver with special attachment. The photo shows original Western Electric 31A horn with WE27A compatible attachment made by back yard builder. | ||

31A horn is also made by ALTEC after WE business is transferred to them. We also can see many 31A replicas made by other companies. I have another 31A "replica" horn but it usually sounds better because of less resonance. I believe somebody would prefer WE 31A horn with a little resonance. Resonance or mechanical vibration would be sometimes part of sound. I mentioned it in my 3A horn page. |
