Western Electric 3A Horn
Straight Horn for WE549W / WE551 Driver using with WE555
| WE 555 driver with 3A Horn | ||
| You probably know 3A horn is designed for WE549W or WE551 magnetic driver. I have been using WE555 driver with 3A horn. We can use 3A horn with 555 because attachment size is identical. | ||
| Key to use 3A horn is ... Hooking this horn with wire in the air it should not touch anything. Because this horn make s very very small vibrations that decorate the sound amazingly. | ||

WE555 with large horn such as 15A, sounds greatly. However it is usually too large to use at home. I am using 555 driver with 3A horn that sounds vividly. 150uF (sometimes 75uF depend on the situation) film capacitor is used between amplifier and driver. Cut off frequency is 66Hz/6dB/Oct. at 150uF. (132Hz/6dB/Oct. at 75uF) |
